Intercultural education
I have a sustained track record of securing funding to integrate intercultural competences into curriculum and teaching innovations. Among my 15 grants, three supported British Council-funded curriculum development projects in Uzbekistan and Argentina, focusing on developing intercultural competences among language students.
At the University of East Anglia, I pioneered and taught undergraduate and postgraduate modules on intercultural communication, training and education, helping students develop as effective intercultural mediators in international and multicultural settings.
I have extensive experience designing and delivering virtual exchange projects, researching intercultural competences and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and books. I have also delivered talks, keynote speeches, consultancy and teacher-training workshops nationally and internationally, including in the UK, Argentina, Japan, Austria, Australia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Spain.
